We worked closely with architects Hawkins \ Brown on a new Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) extension to Hilden Grange Preparatory School in Tonbridge.
The new building, which runs in two wings, is staggered on three levels into the sloping site and includes an unusual folded-plane sedum roof. CLT is expressed extensively in the architecture of the building.
Detailed finite element modelling of the non-homogeneous timber panels led to an elegant solution, allowing the ridge connection to be hidden internally.
