The New Batumi Pier development is to be a leisure pier built approximately perpendicular to the main coastline along the main stretch of boulevard in Batumi, Georgia. The Pier advances approximately 160m into the water from the mean high water level on the shoreline and the total length of the causeway and pier is approximately 220m.
The main causeway structure, lido zone and restaurant platform are all engineered from Ekki hardwood sections whilst the main piles are Cloeziana hardwood poles in single lengths up to 20m. The restaurant structure roof is designed in engineered softwood and the cone shape is stabilised using a compression and tension ring on plan. An ETFE roof forms the cover to the restaurant.
