Paul is a creative engineer with a passion for thoughtful and elegant structural design of buildings developed through integrated design teams and dialogue with architects. He places a strong emphasis on communication with clients and design teams using free-hand sketches, physical models and 3D imaging to ensure clear and accurate 'storylines' for the engineering work. He is also highly motivated by the role that engineering can play in delivering sustainable solutions for urban futures.
He has over 15 years post-graduate experience in Civil & Structural Engineering of complex building projects. He is a founding director of Engenuiti. His previous positions were at Associate Director level at Whitby Bird, Price & Myers and Buro Happold Engineers.
Clive Fussell

director
Clive is an award-winning engineer who is passionate about structural engineering. He has designed and delivered multi-disciplinary projects with signature architects around the world.
Although known for his technical skills he is adamant that engineering is a people business that requires its leaders to communicate, inspire and continually challenge existing boundaries.
He has over 15 years post-graduate experience with Buro Happold in the structural engineering of complex building projects. He is a founding director of Engenuiti. His previous position was at Associate Director level with Buro Happold Engineers.
Sebnem Gaffney

practice manager
Sebnem graduated from Uludag University in Turkey with a First Class Honours Degree in International Relations and Politics.
Prior to joining Engenuiti, Sebnem spent a number of years working in International Companies as an Executive Assistant, in particular supporting the Sales and Marketing teams.
Sebnem joined Engenuiti in 2012 as Practice Manager with overall responsibility for Human Resources, Marketing, Office Administration and Finance.
Nathan Wheatley

Nathan is a highly intuitive structural engineer who, by drawing on his multi-disciplinary background, ensures that he delivers excellent engineering solutions that respond to and enhance the designs and strategies of all members of the design team. He has a demonstrated ability to conceive and present elegant structural schemes with care and value, and has worked on many high profile and award winning projects both in the UK and internationally.
His approach is collaborative, and he fosters close working relationships with all partners in the Client and Design teams. Nathan has over 15 years post-graduate experience in multi-disciplinary design of architecturally challenging buildings, and is a founding director of Engenuiti. His previous positions were at Associate Director level and he spent 12 years in the London and Bath offices of Buro Happold Engineers.
Norton Amirthanayagam

senior structural modeller
Norton has a broad-based design background including a diploma in product design and degree in 3D computer aided design and technology.
He has over 12 years experience in developing drawings for both building structures and architecture and has a special interest in the detailing of architecturally exposed structures including glass facades and long-span roof structures. He also has a key skill in rendering of 3D models.
He is responsible for our modelling and drawing production capability and is as much at home developing complex concept ideas as he is ensuring the clarity of structural details.
Nigel de Grey

structural engineer
Nigel's design interests include long-span structures, light-weight roof structures and bridges. In particular he enjoys exploring complex structural geometries and in pushing the boundaries of the materials science to create the most economic structures.
He has over 5 years post-graduate experience and has designed and supervised construction on several bridges including the gateway bridge for the London Olympics between Stratford Station and the Olympic Site.
Since joining Engenuiti he has been developing the designs of several Cross-Laminated Timber schools and undertaking seismic analysis for projects in Georgia.
David Plumstead

structural engineer
David is a structural engineer whose recent work includes schools projects, timber design and refurbishment projects.
He has a foundation in General Engineering which he studied in the first two years of his degree before specialising in Civil Engineering. He explored the design and actuation of deployable structures in his 4th year project.
David enjoys producing imaginative and efficient design solutions.
Chris Davies

Chris is a design focused chartered engineer with a professional background in multi-disciplinary engineering. Known for a pro-active and collaborative approach he enjoys solving challenges by drawing on an architectural engineering background and developing close working relationships with the project team.
Chris has over 7 years post-graduate experience in multi-disciplinary design of architecturally challenging buildings. His previous position was Senior Engineer where he spent six years in the London office of Buro Happold Consulting Engineers.
Alex Zecevic

structural engineer
Alex is an ardent structural engineer with a background as a structural technician. Drawing upon his multifaceted experience, he challenges himself to beat deadlines, and not just meet them. Originating from Australia, he has a vast amount of experience in post-tensioned concrete, reinforced concrete and steel design.
Alex has over 6 years industry experience and has worked on projects of varying magnitudes from small refurbishments through to medium-rise developments for education buildings, galleries and museums, car parks and churches.
Tracey Bendrien

business development
Tracey is our business development expert who brings flair and focus to the practice's relationship development efforts. Bringing a pragmatic and resourceful approach to Engenuiti, her role is to pick up on the creative ideas of how we want to shape the culture and put them into action.
Originating from Canada (an Albertan, transplanted to Nova Scotia prior to moving to the UK) with a BA Honours in Linguistics and Psychology and with over 15 years experience gained subsequently in sales, business development and consulting across a number of sectors, she offers a refreshing view of collaboration and building sustainable relationships that bring interesting opportunities. Her friendly tenacity goes a ways too.
Nathan Shand

Nathan is a 26 year old Structural Engineer from New Zealand. He graduated from Auckland University with honours in 2007 and has 5 years experience working in a design office both in New Zealand and in the United Kingdom.
He has worked on many interesting projects ranging from high end residential to large commercial buildings and likes to be involved in projects from inception through to completion.
He is passionate about engineering, enjoys the challenge of learning new skills and solving different problems and likes to take a hands on approach.
John Bailiss

John has a broad interest in design in addition to architecture and engineering. As well as dabbling in furniture design at a DIY level of "competence", John is a keen cyclist and runner. When given the opportunity John also enjoys yacht racing. In fact pretty much any outdoor activity is of interest to John who also enjoys skiing, climbing, hiking, camping and generally being cold or wet in some sort of mountainous or water based environment. John also likes biscuits and beer. But not together.

Lizzie is a structural engineer with a keen interest in sustainable and low carbon building design. She studied Civil and Architectural Engineering at the University of Bath, specialising in low carbon buildings in her final year.
Since becoming Engenuiti's first graduate engineer, Lizzie has been heavily involved in school design projects, primarily in Cross-Laminated Timber, making a change from her previous experience with reinforced-concrete and steel framed structures. She enjoys producing creative building solutions with minimal impact on the environment and is often found with a pencil in her hair.
Away from the office, Lizzie is an enthusiastic hockey player and avid sports fan.
Rachel Sandbrook

Having spent the last ten years as a consulting engineer, Rachel has delivered projects across a wide range of sectors, including education, arts, residential and commercial buildings, and is experienced in both refurbishment and new build work. She cut her teeth at Buro Happold, where she worked closely with the directors of Engenuiti for a number of years. She later joined Fluid Structures as an Associate and team leader, a role that enabled her to put her natural drive and energy into motivating and inspiring others.
Rachel has a passion for the collaborative nature of the design and construction process, which hinges on communication across a very broad range of stakeholders. She became an engineer because she saw it as an opportunity to do good in society, and she continues to cling on gamely to this notion, believing well-designed buildings can improve people's lives in numerous ways.
