Designed with Feneley Studio, the new private house is located on a restricted site in Shepherds Bush, within the Coningham Grove and Lime Grove Conservation Area.
Using a limited palette of materials, cross-laminated timber, black brick and anthracite zinc roofing, the house has been designed in response to the site boundary and proximity of neighbouring residences.
The house will feature an eroded corner containing a triangular rooflight to bring daylight into the double-height entrance hall. An open plan ground floor will extend to the rear garden, with a large bay window to the front providing a window seat on to the small entrance court. To the rear, full-height glazing shaded by external timber louvres will provide privacy. The house will be finished with a polished concrete floor, exposed cross-laminated timber and white plaster.
