FAULKNER BROWNS PUTS FORWARD PLANS FOR COVENTRY WATER PARK
FaulknerBrowns Architects has submitted plans for a £36.7 million leisure centre in Coventry. The scheme will house a 25m swimming pool and a water park with six slides, a wave pool, toddlers' splash area and a 'lazy river' ride. The pool will be contained within a 50m-diameter metal-clad drum, and will sit 11m above street level, providing views out across the city. The building will replace an existing council office block on a tightly constrained site next to the city's Grade II* listed Christchurch Spire. Once the new pool opens, the city's Grade II listed 60s swimming pool in Fairfax Street will be closed.
