Cambourne School is a new build secondary school located on the outskirts of Cambridge. The design of the school brings together two principle building types, a CLT framed building and modular (Yorkon) pre-fabricated units.
The CLT frame provides the specialised spaces for the school, as well as general circulation, with the modular units then providing standardised classrooms spaces. The two forms have been selected for the speed of construction and cost control, enabling the construction programme to be completed in 12 months and to an exacting construction budget.
