By 2025 over 60% of the world’s population will be living in cities. Those of us working in the design and construction of the built environment are being pushed more than ever to maximise the opportunities of urban development.
The challenges of sites are becoming more complex, often involving restricted access, retention of existing façades and the threading of foundations and basements through an increasingly dense network of transportation tunnels, infrastructure pipes and cables. Realising the full potential of the site requires communication, engagement, imagination and thorough examination of the engineering principles and construction sequences.
We design solutions for today with the ability to adapt to the expected changes that will occur in future years. We are used to asking the difficult questions of our clients and ourselves.
